I received my Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Montreal under the supervision of Dr. Jean-François Tanguay. My research projects were evaluating the mechanisms of vascular healing with estrogen treatment that led to 6 published manuscripts.
Following my PhD program, I joined Dr. George King’s laboratory at Joslin Diabetes Center, a prestigious center for diabetes health care, to better understand and pursue our knowledge of the complex pathways that lead to diabetic pathology in a way to find new therapeutic methods to cure diabetes. Over four years of training as fellow, I identified a new pathway that causes death of key vascular cells leading to diabetic complications, which was published in prestigious journals such as Nature Medicine, Cell Metabolism and Circulation Research.
